Reliable waterproofing of wells from reinforced concrete rings: use of Rubber Elast tape
For stable and safe water supply of private houses, farms and industrial facilities, wells are often constructed from reinforced concrete rings . Such structures provide access to the aquifer, but at the same time have one of the most vulnerable zones - the joints between the rings , through which groundwater, rainwater or sewage can penetrate. Together with it, sand, organic impurities and bacteria enter the well, which makes the water unsuitable for use.
That is why waterproofing wells is not just a technical necessity, but an important condition for protecting health and the durability of the structure . Traditional sealing with cement mortar no longer provides the required level of tightness, because under the influence of moisture and temperature fluctuations, it cracks and peels off over time.
Rubber Elast — a modern approach to waterproofing wells
Rubber Elast is a highly effective sealing tape that provides reliable insulation of concrete ring joints . It is easy to install, does not require special equipment and guarantees a long-lasting result.
Installation is done as follows:

The surface of the ends of the rings is cleaned of dust, dirt, and cement laitance.

Rubber Elast tape (self-adhesive base, protected by paper film) is glued to the upper end of the ring around the entire circumference.

After pressing the tape, the film is removed and the next ring is installed on top.

The joint is additionally sealed - the ends of the tape are cut at an angle of 30–40° and tightly compressed.
The tape consumption per ring of KS 10-9 is 3.4 m.p.
