Ship -like geemmbrane drainage for waterproofing

Geomembrane, also known as profiled or spiked membrane, is a waterproof material that is actively used in construction to protect structures from moisture and condensation. Thanks to special spikes on its surface, it provides effective drainage and mechanical protection of waterproofing and thermal insulation.
Purpose and application:
The spiked geomembrane performs several key functions:
- Draining water from structures, preventing its accumulation.
- Protection of waterproofing and thermal insulation materials from mechanical damage.
- Creating an additional layer of noise insulation due to its cellular structure.
- Protection of foundations and floor coverings from capillary rise of moisture.
Geomembrane has a wide range of applications:
- Foundations of residential and industrial buildings
- Retaining walls, floor slabs, blind areas
- Operated roofs and terraces
- Road construction
- Construction of underground structures (tunnels, subways, parking lots, basements)
- Alternative to concrete preparation
Advantages of use:
- Effective drainage – ensures rapid water drainage, preventing moisture stagnation.
- Waterproofing protection – increases the service life of insulation materials.
- Easy installation – does not require complex preparatory work or special tools.
- Durability – the material is resistant to moisture, chemicals and mechanical stress.
Installation of the spiked membrane:
The process of laying a geomembrane is quite simple:
Surface preparation – the base must be clean and flat.
Laying the membrane - 10 cm above the soil backfill level, with spikes towards the wall (when used alone) or with spikes away from the wall (together with geotextile).
Fixation - fastening the membrane with nails with wide caps or plastic washers in increments of 30 cm.
Sealing joints - overlapping the sheets (at least 10 cm) and gluing with butyl rubber tape or mastic.
Types of geomembranes:
Depending on the construction needs, there are different types of studded membranes:
By density – 400, 500 or 600 g/m²
With or without geotextile - depending on the specifics of the object and operating conditions
Drainage geomembrane is an indispensable material for construction, providing reliable protection against moisture, increasing the service life of buildings and reducing the costs of repair and maintenance of structures. Its use guarantees the quality and durability of any construction project.
