Waterproofing bentonite cord "Hydrostop RED" 20x30 mm is a material designed to ensure the waterproofness of working seams in building structures and in places of communication. When in contact with water, the bentonite cord significantly increases its volume. The resulting gel in a confined space creates a stress that reduces water permeability, even in the presence of cracks and porous places in the concrete. To achieve complete sealing and isolation from moisture, the bentonite cord "Hydrostop RED" 20x30mm in the form of a tape is mounted in the seams of foundations and walls with steel nails every 30-40 cm to avoid displacement and to ensure better connection with concrete. When mounting, it is necessary to avoid breaking the continuity of the tape position. Excellent technological performance and an easy installation method make it possible to use the product as an insulating material for joints in underground construction, hydraulic structures and civil engineering. Bentonite cord "Hydrostop RED" has a cross-section of 20x30 mm, is made of bentonite clay and is a rectangular cross-section profile that swells when in contact with water. The cord increases in volume by 4 times, i.e. by 400%, while being in the concreted joints, it covers absolutely any cracks and holes. Bentonite cord securely and firmly adheres to the concrete surface, filling seams, junctions and the smallest voids in the concrete body, forming a reliable protective layer.

Bentonite cord "Gidrostop RED" 20x30 mm is an important material for ensuring tightness and protecting building structures from moisture. Here are the basic steps for its installation and installation:

  • Surface Preparation: The surface on which the cord will be installed must be clean, dry and free of dust, dirt or other contaminants.
  • Measuring and cutting: Measure the length of the seam you want to fill. Cut the appropriate length of bentonite cord to spare.
  • Laying the Cord: Place the bentonite cord inside the seam or corresponding space, making sure it fits snugly against the walls of the seam or hole.
  • Fixation: To ensure better fixation and bonding to the concrete, use steel nails or other suitable fasteners. Install them every 30-40 cm along the seam or as needed.
  • Checking continuity: It is important to ensure that the cord is not in continuity in the seam. Ensure that the cord is laid without gaps or overlaps to ensure continuous moisture protection.
  • Additional fixation (if necessary): If required, use a special mesh, sealant or adhesive for additional fixation and sealing of the seam.
  • Checking the quality of installation: After installation is complete, check the quality of installation, making sure that the cord fits snugly to the surface and provides reliable insulation.

Correct installation of Hydrostop RED bentonite cord is important to ensure effective protection against moisture and maintain the integrity of the building structure. When performing work, you should follow the manufacturer's recommendations and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

How to choose the right bentonite cord?

  • for sealing holes - bentonite cord with a round cut with a diameter of 22 mm.
  • for communication inputs - rectangular cut 5x20 mm.
  • for sealing cold seams - a rectangular cut 10x20; 15x25; 20x30 mm.

How to install bentonite cord?

  • A bentonite cord of round cut d22 is inserted into the hole after the clamping screw and covered with a repair mixture.
  • A 5x20 mm bentonite cord with a rectangular cut for communication inputs is wrapped around the pipe, fixed with sealant or wire and filled with a repair mixture.
  • Bentonite cord 10x20; 15x25; 20x30 mm for sealing joints is laid along the seam, fixed with a special mesh, dowels, glue or sealant and poured with the next part of concrete.

What is the method of laying and mounting bentonite cord?

Installation of bentonite cord depends on its type and is carried out using a special mesh, sealant or glue. To achieve complete sealing and isolation from moisture, the bentonite "Hydrostop RED" 20x30mm harness in the form of a tape is mounted in cold joints of foundations and walls with steel nails every 30-40 cm to avoid displacement and to ensure better connection with concrete. When mounting, it is necessary to avoid breaking the continuity of the tape position.

How to choose the right bentonite cord?

To seal the technological seams, the size of the bentonite cord is selected depending on the thickness of the concrete wall or slab and the technological characteristics of the structure.

  • for sealing holes – bentonite cord round cut with a diameter of 22 mm.
  • for the inputs of communications – a rectangular section of 5x20 mm.
  • for sealing cold joints – rectangular section 10x20; 15x25; 20x30 mm.

What is bentonite cord used for?

Bentonite cord is used in construction for waterproofing. Its main purpose is to prevent the penetration of water or other liquids through connections or joints of various structural elements. This material is widely used in the construction of underground structures, such as tunnels, basements, cellars, swimming pools and other objects where it is important to ensure tightness and protection from moisture. Due to the ability of bentonite cord to swell and fill space, it creates an effective barrier against moisture penetration.

How to lay bentonite cord?

The bentonite cord is laid on a flat and clean surface so that the distance from the edge to the cord is at least 30 mm on the side of the expected water pressure. In the case where reinforcement comes out of the concrete part, a bentonite cord is laid between the reinforcement protrusions.
