Bentonite cord: dimensions and characteristics

Such a special waterproofing profile as bentonite cord, indispensable for the repair of old structures and new construction, is available in a wide range.

The line of bentonite cords includes five types of cross-sectional sizes that differ from each other.

How to choose the right bentonite cord:

  • 5x20 mm is a bentonite cord with a minimum cross–section, the use of which is limited to sealing the zones of laying engineering systems – water, sewer communications and centralized heating pipelines.
  • 10x20 mm is a profile that seals cold joints of concrete structures with a thickness range from 8 to 15 cm.
  • 15x25 mm is a cord suitable for sealing cold joints of concrete structures from 15 to 25 cm, respectively;
  • 20x30 mm – bentonite cord is used for sealing concrete structures from 25 to 40 cm, as well as structures with difficult conditions of use (meaning significant groundwater pressure, very deep location, etc.).
  • Bentonite cord of circular cross section d22. Such a profile is inserted into the opening after mounting the coupling screw, and a repair mixture Teknorep 300 EX is used to cover it.
