Application of a damping tape

The damping tape is a strip of foamed polyethylene with a thickness of 5 to 10 mm. The compensation tape is used in construction and in everyday life, as a sealing and insulating material. Since there are no open-porous cells in the dividing tape, the material is characterized by low moisture absorption. The main use of wall or edge tape is when installing a warm water floor. It is an economical and durable material with excellent thermal insulation, sound insulation and moisture insulation properties.

What is the working principle of the damper tape? The damping tape has a low coefficient of thermal conductivity and a high coefficient of sound absorption.

What are the main characteristics of the inter-circuit damper tape?Resistance against direct sunlight

  •
  • Resistance against moisture, high and low temperatures
  • Provides thermal insulation of the floor
  • Limits the costs and heat losses through the side walls of the building

Where is the damper tape used?It is used for sealing joints or sealing gaps and crevices when arranging a warm water floor as a compensator for thermal expansion of a concrete screed.

It is also used in construction as an insulating or sealing material. The tape is laid along the perimeter of the walls or around the columns, including in niches and along the edges. It is used as a disposable consumable.

How to lay the damping tape? The damping tape is laid along the perimeter of the room and the building elements rising above the floor level to a height of 2-3 cm higher than the planned height of the concrete screed.

When laying the screed, the tape can be fixed with liquid nails, or pressed down with a solution. The edge tape should extend beyond the floor level. After laying, the damping tape is not removed. The protruding part of the tape is cut off only after the floor covering is completely laid. If a tile is laid on the floor, the edge of the tape is cut off after grouting the seams.

Why do I need a protective apron of a damping tape?On the one hand, the damping tape has a protective apron that protects the tape from aggressive concrete, and also closes the gap between the tape and thermal insulation.

Also, the damping tape can be with an adhesive strip on the reverse side.

The damping edge tape adopts thermal expansion of the seamless floor surface, which can reach 5-10 mm. The insulating properties of the material prevent the screed from cracking during the drying period, limit heat loss through the walls of the building, performing the function of thermal insulation.
